ONCOLOGY & THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE
As a therapist Christine focuses on treating clients at all stages of their cancer journey, as well as people living with debilitating illnesses such as Parkinson's, chronic fatigue syndrome, MS, fibromyalgia, HIV/AIDS and depression.
| Sometimes, it is believed that massaging - rather than simply touching - someone with cancer may be harmful. However, it has been proved that gentle and comfort-oriented massage can safely be given to people at all stages of their cancer journey. Experience has shown that symptoms like pain, fatigue, nausea, anxiety and depression can be substantially reduced; whilst gentle massage also aids in strengthening the immune system and body to cope better with radiation and chemotherapy treatments. |

Christine incorporates and combines gentle and non-invasive remedial and bodywork modalities in her work. Apart from general remedial and swedish massage, these include myofascial release, craniosacral and polarity therapy.
She believes that the key to beneficial bodywork is not the type of treatment, but the therapist's ability to adjust it, depending on a person's medical history, age, constitution and individual body requirements.
Christine has also done specific accredited training, under the auspices of the Quest for Life Centre and the NSW Cancer Council, to work with people experiencing cancer or neuro-immune disorders. She also has training in complex lymphatic therapy which enables her to work with clients with, or at risk of, lymphoedema.
She has established her practice at Ramsdale Pharmacy & Wellbeing Centre, but is also available for home and hospice visits if a person is too incapacitated to travel or needs palliative care.
Heath Fund rebates are available. Also specially priced treatment packages during chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy.
