SolariumTime to relax and unwind.
Maximum exposure per week is limited to 3 sessions. With a minimum of 48 hours between each session. You must always wear protective goggles while undergoing solarium exposure. Each user must sign a consent form before their first session. If under 18 parental permission is needed. For the comfort of other clients please turn of your mobile phone. No food or drinks to be consumed in the solarium. Solarium sessions will be forfeited unless cancelled prior to the time of your booking. If you are booking 10 sessions the offer expires after 12 months of signing the consent form. Do not use any oils or lotions other than those recommended for indoor tanning. Remove all jewellery to prevent scratching the acrylic. Be careful when getting into the solarium. Do not jump or sit on the Perspex with too much force. Do not put your knees or elbows into the acrylic when turning over, since this could break the acrylic. Instead hold the side of the bed to turn over. Do not force the timer; ask for help if you are having trouble. Please clean the solarium and goggles after use.
1. How long will it take me to tan? Tanning is a natural process and there will be a variance due to skin type. Generally speaking, a person with a normal or medium complexion will display a rich, even tan after about 8 to 10 sessions on alternate days. After that as little as once or twice a week will maintain your tan and keep you looking and feeling great. 2. Can I expose my entire body? Within reason, yes. However there are certain parts on most bodies which have never been exposed to sunlight. It may be as well to keep those naturally tender parts covered. 3. What if I fall asleep in the solarium? The solarium will turn itself off automatically once the specified time has expired. 4. Why have I developed a rash? Skin rashes related to tanning indoors can be caused by a number of factors. Two of the main causes are heat build up or an overdose of UVA. If you have a rash, you have to stop tanning for a few days and start over at a lower level. Often, people eventually build up immunities, but if they don't and the rash persists you will need to stop tanning altogether. Make sure that your skin is free from creams, lotions, perfumes, scented soap and cosmetic products as these products could also contribute to your skin producing a rash. 5. What are white spots? White spots can develop at body pressure points that are in contact with the tanning bed, such as buttocks and shoulder blades. Blood cannot circulate well in these spots so the area does not receive the oxygen needed to tan and white spots develop. Moving around in the solarium and turning over onto your stomach will help resolve this. Other white spots are more of a mystery and could be caused by medication, lack of pigment, genetic disposition or skin condition. 6. Can I have a shower before / after a solarium? Showering is not recommended within 1 hour of undergoing UV rays due to the build up of soap still on the skin surface. After having a solarium session, you must wait for at least half an hour to an hour before having a shower, the reason being that your pores are open and the shower will wash away the body's natural oils.
